JCPenney

Posted by Brandon on November 7, 2010 Post a Comment

Thanks to Typoze.com member Deletia for taking this picture. An uninformed individual misspelled the retail store “JCPenney“. Not only did they not capitalize the “C” but they also left out an “e”.

What makes this sign worse, is that there are 6 of them all around the mall!

Thanks Deletia!

Today’s featured book review was written by a Typoze.com member, Deletia. She recently read “The Great Typo Hunt, two friends changing the world, one correction at a time” by Jeff Deck and Benjamin D. Herson. Deletia also spotted several typos in the book which we’re sure the authors will be quite interested in knowing about!

I wasn’t sure a trip around the country to correct typos could provide enough material for a book; I was expecting a lot of before-and-after photos with some commentary. The journey made an interesting and entertaining story, though. As well as being a sharp-eyed editor, Jeff Deck is a really good writer. It’s obvious that he loves words, but he’s also a storyteller with a good sense of humor. I enjoyed reading about his typo-correcting quest with his friends, the various responses they encountered, and their own thoughts about it along the way.

Two typos one sign

You don’t normally come across two typos within the same sign, brochure, or advertisement. But there’s a first time for everything! My question is, did anyone get lost?
