Don't mean to bug you, John--I'm just trying out the comment feature and this is the only typo I have anything to say about! I don't think this is a typo; it just looks like an awkwardly arranged sentence to me.

I reread the passage in the book. I'm now sure that the correct sentence is: But just as obviously most management goes well beyond these functions. Thanks for the heads up, Deletia.
